I couldn't find a more suitable subforum to post this since it involves all jeans regardless of make or model.

I've been actively using MyNudies.com for over five years and tho my postcount might be minor, I follow this forum very intensively. While on many occations I've found what I was looking for through searching, there's one question - the most important one for me - that most of the time seems to remain without a straight answer. Sizing.

* Hasn't this been discussed several times before in various subforums?

Indeed, in fact I think half the questions filling model-specific threads regard sizing and the answers vary from informative to offencive. The search-button has helped me a lot in the past but frankly, this community has grown enormously since I joined here and so have the forums. These days it's much harder to find reliable sizing information regarding a specific model through the search-button.

* Why is this thread vital?

MyNudies.com is a very international community of denim-enthusiasts and (I think) most of them order their dry denim online. Everyone who has ordered jeans online know exactly how big of a risk there is that the jeans aren't the right size.

* Okay, so how does this thread work?

I know this community has tons of denim in their possession and the best way to ensure you buy the right size next time you order is to have someone measure the exact same model accurately by hand. So lets get started:

1. Make / model / size

Write this information to the "title"-field of your post. You can't edit the title in the "quick reply", you need to go "advanced". Make sure not to misspell anything since this will be the thing people search from this thread. Don't use acronyms (for example Atelier La Durance=ALD) and always write the sizing PRINTED on the jeans. For more easy browsing, measure only one pair of jeans/reply.

2. Condition

- New (Pre-soak/Post-soak)/ worn (streched) / worn (just washed)
This is the first think to take into consideration while measuring jeans, especially dry jeans, so be sure to inform whether the jeans you are measuring are brand new, stretched in use or just washed. Remember to notify whether your new un-sanforized jeans are measured Pre- or Post-soak. You can also post Pre- AND Post-soak measures when possible.

3. Units

- Imperial / metric
Since this is an international community, both units are valid. If you are using the metric system, write the measurements in centimeters. If you are using the imperial system, write the measurements in inches. HERE (http://manuelsweb.com/in_cm.htm) is a converter to convert inches to centimeters or vice versa.

4. Measurements

- Waist
*Measure the waist of the jeans, from the left edge to the right edge. Multiply by two.

- Leg
*Measure the outside of the leg from the top of the waistband to the end of the leg.

- Inseam
*Measure the inside of the leg, from the crotch to the end of the leg.

- Leg opening
*Measure the bottom of the leg, from the left edge to to the right edge. Multiply by two.

- Knee opening
*Measure the leg at knee height, from the left edge to to the right edge. Multiply by two.

- Thigh opening
*Measure the leg at thigh height, from the left edge to to the right edge. Multiply by two.

- Front rise
*Measure the front of the jeans, from the crotch to the top of the waistband.

- Back rise
*Measure the rear of the jeans, from the crotch to the top of the waistband.
Remember to lay the jeans flat on a solid surface and to open any cuffs or rolls to get the actual length of the garment. HERE (http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=41) is some more info on how to measure jeans correctly.

5. Fit pics (optional)

If you can, post a fit picture of the jeans you just measured. This can help people see what kind of overall fit and condition the measured jeans have.
