Hi guys,

when I was wondering which thread colours I might use for an (probably) upcoming OOE, I figured it made sense, to open up a thread for the different types of stitching, the used colours and so on. I would really like to see the variety of thread colours, especially in a historical context (for example I don't know, when different thread colours on one jeans were used for the first time. Also the exact difference between single needle stitching and double needle stitching could be discussed). So, keep it coming. Also, thread evolution pics would be highly appreciated.

I start with my Momotaro 0201, it features yellow, orange and of course pink threads.
Yellow is used on the belt loops, the top of the waist, the coin pocket and the hem.

(I hope there is no such thread yet, as you can imagine, searching for the tag "thread" gives plenty of results)

I can't remember having such a thread. I will contribute later today after work.

I will also contribute once my nervous break down subsides since my work gave me way too many days, I have 3 tests, 2 quizzes, and 1 paper due all before Wednesday of this week. I'm not going to lie, but seriously I am about to lose it.

Anyways, like I said I will contribute later once I am done with my nervous breakdown.

Bunch of Samurai's. Mostly two tone stitching. Some have 3 colors because of the black arcs. The S0510XX66-RR only have yellow stitching.

Wow, great post, b_f! Thanks a lot! those macro shots are really beautiful

- Does anyone here know, when the first two tone stitching was used? Was it a feature from the beginning on Levi's?
- And, does anybody know, if cooton thread is really weaker than polyester / core yarn? I recall Denimes as pretty sensitive on the threads, for example...

BTW, is the brown yarn on those Evisus because of the reinforcement of the crotch? or has it a third colour right from the start, that you did overlook?;-)

It was fun and made me wear my Evisus again :-)

I'm not sure what exactly you mean. The crotch reinforcement is black and was there from the begining...Maybe there's some more black thread used on this pair to attach the tags or whatever

I don't like orange or contrast thread - I prefer navy stitching and plain pockets.
Just think it looks smarter
